Linden St closure

Good Afternoon All,

The Linden Street Bridge project will begin on Monday, July 6th and is expected to continue through October 2015. The project involves removing the existing culverts and replacing them with a concrete bridge. The contractor, George R. Cairns & Sons, will be setting up equipment and materials at the site over the next 2 weeks. They anticipate beginning demolition of the culverts on Monday, July 20th, which means that the bridge will then be closed to all traffic until the end of October. Traffic will be detoured via Pine St, Court St and Gary Lane, as shown on the attached PDF.

We are having an informational meeting about the project on Thursday, July 9th from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Nowak Room at the Town Office, 10 Front Street. The contractor, project engineer and DPW staff will be there to discuss the project and answer any questions you may have.

Please share this information with neighbors, tenants, customers, employees, etc. to help spread the word.

Feel free to contact me or Jay Perkins (773-6163) with any questions you may have.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Took some effort

This is the second time this has happened in the last 2-3 years

The first time I met the young patrolman.

He tried lifting it and I stopped him from his attempt .

His name was not Boris.

We actually have thankfully little problem with vandalism in Exeter.

It’s Summer when the living is easy, and driving a chore

Good Morning All,

Paving and related work on Portsmouth Avenue is scheduled to begin this Monday, July 6th. It is expected to take approximately 3 weeks, weather permitting, during which time a one-way detour will be in place periodically. The detour will begin at Green Hill Road for vehicles on Portsmouth Ave that are headed into town (south). Vehicles will be directed through the Jady Hill neighborhood to High Street or String Bridge. Vehicles on High Street will be able to turn onto Portsmouth Ave to go north (toward Route 101). The detour will not be needed every day, so please watch for signs indicating that the detour is in effect.

Please share this information with employees, neighbors, customers, etc. Also, access to the businesses in this area will be maintained throughout the project.

Thank you all for your patience and cooperation. Feel free to call or email with any questions.

Hope you all have a fun and safe holiday weekend,
Jen

friday morning

Stepped out of the apartment with the dog early this morning and met this fellow coming up the stairs. We are currently camping at the Mill along the river as we sold our home.

In two days.

I am not crowing, just a word to the wise. Formulate  a plan if you catch the bug to sell because all the campgrounds are full.

This is an an area that is chock full of wild things. My own yard was the same way with woodland beasts.   I tried to pick him up but as you saw in the other snapper photo, they have long necks. You lift from the rear and just behind his head, but he was having none of that .

Crikey!

Back to Clemson Pond for the wandering turtle.

On our walk this am we saw the Exeter FD responding to a brush fire in the PEA woods.

There was a raft of these ducks on the Squamscott just now.

The long ice out and now open water is enticing to visitors.

The Osprey is fun to watch when it tucks its wings to dive straight in for small fish.

He missed just now.
